Grace To Fathers On Father’s Day

There are no perfect fathers but God the Father.

As fathers...

...there are days we wish we could relive; we would have done them differently.

...there are decisions we wish we could redo; we would have made them differently.

...there are directions we wish we could retake; we would have taken them differently.

But we can’t.

Consequently, many fathers live in guilt and shame; bothered and burdened by those days, decisions, and directions.

Depression sets in.

Doubt sets in.

Despair sets in.

It is good for us in these times to remember Paul’s words to the Ephesians,

“Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Grace is...

...God’s unconditional love freely and fully revealed to us in Jesus.

...God’s unmerited kindness freely and fully given to us in Jesus.

...God’s unlimited forgiveness freely and fully given to us in Jesus.

Today, God the Father freely and fully extends to you his unconditional love, unmerited kindness, and unlimited forgiveness, which we experience by faith in Jesus.

Today, on Father’s day, focus on the Father’s love, kindness, and forgiveness freely and fully given to you.

Then empowered by his grace, freely give grace to yourself, and freely give grace to others.

If there are those who have been hurt by the days you wish could redo, the decisions you wish you could remake, and the directions you wish you could retake, if possible and if appropriate, offer them your apologies, ask for their forgiveness, make any necessary amends...which they may are may not accept.
