The Coming Kingdom of God...You Can Live In It!

There is much crime and chaos in the world.

One of the great promises of Scripture is the establishment of the kingdom of God on earth where righteousness and peace dwell.

This is a promise that has yet to be fulfilled but will be fulfilled as God completes his plan for the nation of Israel and the world.

The promise of a future kingdom is seen in Isaiah 9:6-9 with the promise of a child to be born into the nation of Israel to establish the kingdom of God on earth as King (Zechariah 9:9-10).

The angel announced to Mary that she would give birth to this child - Jesus (Luke 1:26-33).

Jesus and his disciples taught about this coming kingdom.

After his resurrection, Jesus spent 40 days explaining the coming kingdom to his disciples (Acts 1: 3, 6).

After Jesus' ascension, Peter taught the people of Israel that God would send Jesus - the Christ (promised One) - to restore the kingdom to Israel (Acts 3:17-21).

This coming kingdom will eventually become the new heaven and new earth (Isaiah 65:17; 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 11:15; 21:1-5).

Prior to the establishment of the new heaven and earth, sin and sinners will be removed from the earth (2 Peter 3:1-13).

Jesus taught that all who do evil, sin and sinners, will be removed from the earth after the establishment of his kingdom (Matthew 13:41-50).

Jesus taught that only the righteous would remain (Matthew 13:43, 49).

The Pharisees understood this.

Through obedience to the Law of Moses, they tried to obtain the righteousness needed to live eternally in the kingdom of God and on the new earth.

Yet Jesus taught that the prostitutes and tax collectors were entering the kingdom before the Pharisees (Matthew 21:31-32).

This is because righteousness can't be obtained through behavior (Galatians 2:21) but is received simply by believing in Jesus.

Righteousness is a gift of grace that comes by believing.

This is what Paul taught in Romans and Galatians.

Righteousness is a free gift available to all people...

...no matter who they are

...no matter what they have done.

Anyone can possess the righteousness needed to live in God's coming kingdom.

Anyone can live on the new earth.

The righteousness needed is freely provided in Jesus as a gift of grace and is received simply through faith in Jesus.

Yes, there is crime and chaos all over the world.

But there is a coming kingdom...

God's kingdom.

And you can live in it!

There is a new earth coming filled with peace and righteousness.

And you can live on it!

How?

Simply believe in Jesus...trust in him...the one who loves you and gave his life for you by taking your sinfulness upon himself at the cross.

He now offers you his righteousness, which you can receive simply by believing in Jesus.
