Leave Guilt In The Grave
Guilt is heavy...it weighs on us.
It's the painful, emotional feeling we have because of something we did that was wrong...unkind...unloving.
Not only has our wrong-doing caused us deep emotional pain, it possibly caused others pain as well.
We feel bad because of what we did.
We feel for those we hurt.
We wish we could undo the unloving and unkind acts.
We wish we could heal the hurt and pain we've caused.
But we can't.
So what do we do with our guilt?
Something to think about…
…It's not what we do with our guilt...it's what Jesus did with it.
Jesus took our guilt upon himself at the cross...all of it.
He then took our guilt from the cross to the grave.
When he rose from the dead, he left our guilt...your guilt...in the grave...forever.
He freely offers us his innocence...all of it...it's a gift...it's grace.
We receive his free gift of grace through faith.
When we place our faith in Jesus, we receive his innocence...forever.
Today, leave your guilt in the grave...Jesus' grave...by placing your faith in Jesus.
From this point forward, forget about your guilt and focus on doing good...bring good into your life and into others' lives.
If you have never placed your faith in Jesus or aren’t sure you have, below is a simple prayer to express your faith in Jesus.
Jesus, thank you for taking my guilt upon yourself at the cross. And thank you for leaving it in the grave when you rose from the dead. Today, I place my faith…belief…trust in you. I am now innocent of all sins…thank you Jesus.
