The Meaning Of Life Is Found In A Manger

A common question people ask all over the world is:

What’s the meaning of life?

Another question people ask is:

Is there a God?

These are two good questions.

These two questions are linked – if there is a God, then life has meaning.

So is there a God?

Yes, I have written about this in a short article I wrote called:

Three Reasons I Believe In God.

Another article I have written about this topic is:

The Mystery Of God Solved

Since God does exist, the next question is:

Who is God?

Paul, the writer of Colossians, states that God has revealed himself to us in Jesus.

...the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:2-3).

He also writes,

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form... (Colossians 2:9)

These verses show us that God has fully revealed himself to us in Jesus.

Jesus is the fullness of God.

So what does this mean?

People search for truth.

People search for meaning.

People search for God.

God understands this search because he created us to know him.

So, therefore, he revealed himself to us in Jesus.

In Jesus, the search is over.

Through Jesus, we discover that God does exist – God has revealed himself to us in Jesus.

Through Jesus, we discover that life does have meaning – the meaning of life is found in Jesus.

The Jewish Prophets in the Jewish Scriptures (Genesis – Malachi) foretold of a child who would come to be the light of the world.

This child would reveal God to us.

This child would be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2).

The time came for this child to be born.

He was born in Bethlehem.

His mother was Mary.

She named him Jesus.

She placed him in a manger.

And in that manger was the meaning of life.

Jesus.

Jesus grew up.

Then, around the age of 33, he died on a cross for the sins of the world.

He died our death.

Three days later, he rose from the dead.

Through faith in Jesus, we are now joined to God spiritually and relationally for eternity.

Do we understand all of this?

Does all of this make sense to us?

No.

It’s hard for our finite minds to grasp an infinite God.

But it’s true.

Historically it’s true.

Jesus is real.

He really was born in Bethlehem.

He really lived.

He really died.

He really rose from the dead.

And through him, we discover God.

Through him, we discover the meaning of life.

The search is over.

If you have never placed your faith in Jesus, or, are not sure if you have, today you can.

Below is a simple prayer to express your faith in Jesus.

God, I believe you revealed yourself to the world in Jesus. I believe Jesus died for all of my sins, past, present, and future. I believe Jesus rose from the grave. I admit I don’t understand it all. But I do believe in Jesus...his birth, his life, his death, and his resurrection.

If you have believed in Jesus today, I celebrate with you!

The day I believed in Jesus, I didn’t understand it all either.

And I still don’t today.

But I have learned much about the Bible over time (and I am still learning).

My website, Gracereach, is dedicated to teaching people more about the Bible so they, too, can learn.

On my website you will find videos, blogs, podcasts, and books designed to help people learn more about the Bible, more about God, and more about all that God has freely, fully, and forever done for us in Jesus.
