Who Were The Two Witnesses Of Revelation 11?
The two witness in Revelation 11:3-4 were two of the witnesses empowered by the Spirit of God. The “olive oil” of the Spirit had been poured upon them as lampstands to shine the light of Jesus into the dark world. Their identity was not disclosed. However, there are several theories concerning their identity such as Peter and Paul, Jews and Gentiles, Moses and Elijah, Enoch and Elijah, and the law and the prophets. The fact that there are several theories concerning the identity of the witnesses suggest that determining their identity is a difficult task. However, we do know they were witnesses of Jesus for 1260 days (Revelation 11:3).
